Meaning of Account Duty
The duty imposed in 1881 upon personal property above the value of 100 passing at death by way of donatio mortis causa, joint investment, voluntary settlement, or under a policy of insurance kept up for a donee, or passing by voluntary disposition within three years before death. Replaced by estate duty (q.v.)
