What does Absenteeism mean in American Law?
The definition of Absenteeism in the law of the United States, as defined by the lexicographer Arthur Leff in his legal dictionary is:
Persistent tendency by an employee not to show up for work. If no valid justification is offered, absenteeism is ordinarily sufficient grounds for the employee’s discharge, and, as a form of worker misconduct, grounds for denial of unemployment compensation.
